Reunion for Windows
In July 1997, Reunion for Windows was acquired by another company, Sierra (a publisher of entertainment, productivity, and educational software located in Bellevue, WA.)
When this happened, Leister Productions became a Macintosh-only developer, no longer selling Reunion for Windows, and no longer developing anything for the Windows platform. However, Leister Productions continued to own, develop, and publish Reunion for Macintosh.
In June 2002, Generations for Windows was purchased by Genealogy.com, whose parent company is A&E Television Networks, and it was announced that Broderbund would be distributing the product. Read the press release.

When Reunion for Windows was acquired by Sierra in 1997, Leister Productions ceased Windows development. At the time, Leister Productions was working on a product that was planned to become Reunion 5 for Windows. Sierra acquired this work-in-progress and Leister Productions no longer had any control over the development of that product.Sierra also acquired Reunion 4 for Windows in July 1997. When this happened, Leister Productions no longer sold Reunion 4 for Windows or provided any further updates to the product. However, Leister Productions continued to provide technical support for users of Reunion 4 for Windows for one year (until June 30, 1998). In March 1998, Sierra repackaged Reunion 4 for Windows and re-released it as Generations Deluxe 4.2.
